Whilst at university, it can feel like there is no time to do anything other than studying, and definitely no time to have a job and earn any money! But there could be a scheme that could interest you where you can earn money when it’s convenient for you. You could sign up to be a Student Ambassador.
If you become a Student Ambassador you will be working for the University and will be helping them run open events, visit days, induction weeks, graduation, lead campus tours, attend training sessions, carry out surveys amongst many other things. You will be the face of the University to current and prospective students, and most importantly working is flexible around your studies (you choose when you want to work!)

I began working as a Student Ambassador at the start of my second year and I really enjoy it. It looks great on your CV (showing you support your university), allows you to meet other students from courses you wouldn’t usually come into contact with and is also a way to earn some extra money! The best thing for me is that I choose when I want to work. I always believe that the main reason you come to university it to study so my studies must come first – so if I have a busy week with uni work or have a deadline looming then I can just choose not to work that week. Some students choose to work every week whereas some only work a few events a year. It’s totally flexible!

By working as a Student Ambassador you are able to run campus tours to prospective students on open events and visit days. At first this scared the life out of me as I really do not like talking in front of a group, but I plucked up the courage to do one in a pair and now I’m able to do one on my own! It’s a great way to boost your confidence, and also to learn new things about your own university!
