A sticky ginger and soy treat!

Asking yourself what to cook tonight or possibly later on in the week? Well I have the answer for you, why not try this recipe for Sticky Ginger and Soy Chicken? You can make it quickly and return to the joy of writing your assignment…

I found this idea in the Hairy Bikers family cookbook, I had all the ingredients already in my cupboards but you can find them all at really great prices at Aldi. Perfect for a student budget!

You will need:

4 tbsp of dark soy sauce

1 tbsp wholegrain mustard (or any other one that you like)

A handful of finely chopped root ginger

2 tbsp oil

Pieces of chicken

  1. Mix the marinade ingredients in an ovenproof dish and add the chicken. Leave to marinade for best results.
  2. The next day, preheat the oven to 200 degrees or Gas mark 6 and roast the chicken for 30 minutes until cooked through and wonderfully brown and sticky. Serve with a sweet chilli sauce, rice and some veggies.
It’s a really nice and easy dinner idea that you can get going the night before or if you have less time then just for a few hours in the late afternoon. So what are you waiting for? Get yourself out and make yourself a great tasting home made dinner…
