Asking yourself what to cook tonight or possibly later on in the week? Well I have the answer for you, why not try this recipe for Sticky Ginger and Soy Chicken? You can make it quickly and return to the joy of writing your assignment…
I found this idea in the Hairy Bikers family cookbook, I had all the ingredients already in my cupboards but you can find them all at really great prices at Aldi. Perfect for a student budget!
You will need:
4 tbsp of dark soy sauce
1 tbsp wholegrain mustard (or any other one that you like)
A handful of finely chopped root ginger
2 tbsp oil
Pieces of chicken
- Mix the marinade ingredients in an ovenproof dish and add the chicken. Leave to marinade for best results.
- The next day, preheat the oven to 200 degrees or Gas mark 6 and roast the chicken for 30 minutes until cooked through and wonderfully brown and sticky. Serve with a sweet chilli sauce, rice and some veggies.
It’s a really nice and easy dinner idea that you can get going the night before or if you have less time then just for a few hours in the late afternoon. So what are you waiting for? Get yourself out and make yourself a great tasting home made dinner…
