By now you’ve (hopefully) arrived on campus, found your accommodation, moved in and you’re ready to get your first week of university started. But exactly what is there to do? Well, here’s your guide to Welcome Week.
- Attend the Freshers’ Fair
On Monday between 10 am and 4 pm, get yourself down to Union Square where you will have the opportunity to visit over 60 stalls including doctor’s surgeries, employers, local restaurants and possibly pick up some freebies! This is a great opportunity to see what Worcester has to offer in its local area.
- Go to your course specific events
Some courses provide students with an opportunity to get involved with activities that are related to what they’re going to be studying. These may include things like a guide on using the library, opportunities to meet the teaching team and quizzes for you to meet your fellow students. Although some of these might not be compulsory to attend, it’s a good idea to go along as they can provide you with some key information you may need across the year!
- Visit the Sport and Activities Fair
Welcome Week is a great time to sign up to any sports or societies that you’re interested in. You’ll be able to see all of the sports and societies the university has to offer but be sure not to sign up to too many! In the evening, you’ll be able to participate in the sport and societies meet and greet to meet all your new teammates and society members!
- Learn to look after yourself at University
New for 2015 the University of Worcester is hosting a Well-Fair with information and guidance on how to look after yourself at university. This event is happening on Thursday in the Pear Tree from 10 am.
