As I pen this, I’m sat in front of the rugby with a beer and takeaway pizza on my lap. It’s Friday night and it’s been a long week in school. The echoes of “Mrs Waterfield, Mrs Waterfield…” are just beginning to fade, but I may yet do some planning or complete some assignments. Such is the life of a primary PGCE student!
A little about me. I’m a 27-year-old wife and dog owner, originally from Wales but now living in Worcester. Just over a year ago, I graduated with a joint Hons degree in Performing Arts and Applied Theology. I never intended to become a primary school teacher but, whilst working as a drama specialist last year, realised that it just fits. With some hesitancy and a great deal of trepidation I applied, now here I am. And term 1 is nearly over. How did that happen?
I am so excited to be contributing to this blog and I hope to be able to provide a first-hand insight into what it’s like to be a PGCE student as seen through my eyes and those of my fellow students.
