I’m Tom, it’s 8 pm on Sunday 7th February and I’ve had a fantastic weekend. As youth workers, we strive to make a positive difference to all the people we work with in our communities both in and outside of our work.
Monday 1st – 6 am. Worcester: Nervous and scared – those are the appropriate adjectives to describe my state on my way to Barcelona, where I would spend my semester abroad. Although sad, these feelings were inevitable, as I was not only leaving Worcester, but the university and the way of teaching I got used to, to start a new adventure in a different city.

As a student and I suppose a “me thing”, I find myself always hungry; doesn’t matter what time- it can be during lectures or after midnight and I find myself searching for food that I can eat.
The journey of getting to University is made up of different stages: attending open days, choosing the University you wish to study at, completing an application form, and for some courses – being interviewed.
So far, the only way I can describe my time at University is like an adventure that just keeps getting better.
