Top 5 Student Budget Friendly Places to Eat in Worcester:

Biomedical Science student Amy gives us her tips for getting student discount whilst dining in Worcester.

We all love to get a good deal when it comes to eating out, but sometimes you want something a little bit fancier than your average fast-food meal that won’t break the bank. I’ve found a selection of well-known chain restaurants here in Worcester that are perfectly priced for a student budget if you know the loopholes available to you!

For many of these student prices you’re going to need a ‘Unidays’ or ‘Toogoodtogo’ account. This is a free service for all students available via an app that offers instant access to not only food & drink discounts but also fashion, technology, beauty, lifestyle and much more! It’s super simple to set up and definitely worth it; there’s discounts on there for everyone!

zizzi’s

Zizzis is located in Cathedral Square and offers a 30% discount for students on food Sunday-Thursday. It’s a lovely welcoming atmosphere and some of the best service I’ve experienced in Worcester, with all of the staff being very attentive and friendly every time I’ve visited. This makes it my most frequently visited restaurant. Even without the student discount, Zizzis does a tasty 2 course meal for £11.95 Monday-Friday until 5pm, making it a great lunch spot.

Ask Italian & PizzaExpress

Ask Italian and Pizza Express are both also located in Cathedral Square. Like Zizzi’s, they both offer 30% off food Sunday-Thursday making them perfect options for a start/mid of week treat.

Yo Sushi

Yo Sushi is on my bucket list of places still to visit in Worcester. It’s on the corner of cathedral square and offers 20% off food Sunday-Friday. Yo Sushi is also frequently available on an app called ‘toogoodtogo’; this app aims to prevent food waste. Restaurants such as Yo Sushi put food available on the app at extreme discounts at the end of the day for collection only.

Toby Carvery

Toby carvery is a great option for Students that have a car. It’s an easy 8-minute drive and offers 10/10 carvery options for both vegetarians and meat eaters. While it doesn’t have any constantly running discounts; they frequently have 2 for 1 deals as well as 50% off meaning you can grab a meat carvery for as little as £6 on a Sunday (Normally 12.49) or £4 Monday-Friday (Normally £8.49) and a vegetarian one for even less! It’s a good idea to be signed up to their email deals as they’ll alert you when the discounts are running so you can get down there and pile your plate high.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about some of your options for student budget friendly places to eat in Worcester. Obviously, there are plenty more options out there but this blog just gives you a little taster into what’s available for you here in Worcester. Keep an eye out on apps such as Unidays & Studentbeans for more student friendly discounts. Always be on the look out for new deals;  it’s always worth having a search on google before heading out for a meal to check whether you can get any money off!

Now go out and treat yourself to a nice meal!
