Thinking about whether the University of Worcester is right for you? An Open Day is the perfect opportunity to explore our campuses and find out more about your course and student life. In this blog post, we’ll be sharing our top tips on how to make the most of your visit.
Tip #1: Plan Your Day
Before you arrive, we will send you an Open Day programme which covers directions on how to find us, which campus to arrive at and where to park. This programme is also filled with information about the timings and locations of everything on offer throughout the day. Be sure to make a note of where your course will be based, as well as which talks you’d like to attend and where they’ll be taking place. This will help you work out where to fit in other activities, such as viewing our accommodation or paying a visit to our world-class facilities!
Tip #2: Do What Interests You
Considering studying abroad? Unsure about how to fund your studies? We have a talk for that! Check your Open Day programme for more information about what to expect from each talk and where and when you can find them.

Tip #3: Take Your Time
Why not grab a free tea or coffee and listen to some live music? Or take a moment to chat with our friendly student ambassadors about their experiences at the University of Worcester? For those who enjoy the outdoors, our top recommendations are a stroll along the University Mile or a visit to our stunning ‘secret garden’! There is so much to do and see across our stunning campuses.
Tip #4: Check Out Our Personal Statement Workshop
Your personal statement is an important part of the university application process. It’s your opportunity to express your enthusiasm for your course and showcase your strengths. So…no pressure? We understand that writing about yourself can feel daunting, so our university advisors will be on hand to offer one-to-one feedback and provide guidance on how to improve your personal statement. Bring along a copy of your first draft and pay us a visit! Timings can be found in your programme.

Tip #5: Visit the Local Area
When choosing a university, it’s also vital that you check out the surrounding areas. After all, you’re signing up to live there for the next three years! At Worcester, we are very lucky to be situated in a vibrant city with the community spirit of a small town. Think about all the things you enjoy doing at home and explore what Worcester has to offer you. Big on shopping? Take a walk through our bustling high street. Consider yourself a foodie? Pop into one of our many independent cafes or restaurants! All our campuses are in good proximity of the city centre.
We hope this guide helps you prepare for your upcoming visit to the University of Worcester. We look forward to seeing you soon!
